It never ceases to amaze me how similar the Nordic (can't say Scandinavian, since Finland is not a part of that) countries are in certain respects. The people behave in similar ways and I'd say the Nordic countries tend to have similar base values to an extent. From the airplane you can easily tell you've come to one of the Nordic countries from scenery alone. However, Norway I think has something different to it, especially compared to Finland. I have been to Oslo a bunch of times, but am ashamed to say I have never been further than the airport. So I was excited to experience the side of Norway that did not include tax free shops.

I'm sure on the 7th we got the whole festival experience; we got pushed, shoved and stepped on, withnessed multiple imaginative uses for the blue Ikea bag (hat, raincoat, boot covers...), beer got thrown at us, I even filmed a part of a dance-off that a guy in a yellow raincoat decided to begin during Martin Garrix. While the area was quite large it was relatively packed, 30k people or so. We did not care to see the first few acts as the weather was bad and arrived while most of the people were already in. However, we did end up getting a good spot to view the stage from.

Stavanger town
On Thursday we visited the town. The old town was absolutely adorable with the little houses and stoned streets. After that we had toasties in a little cafe called det lille hjørnet, located on a street with brightly-colored houses. Overall the trip was lovely, huge thanks to Aga's family for having me!
This has been a rushed publish, since I'm about to leave to work. I will revisit the post to correct any mistakes I've made. I will be back with another post as soon as I can, I have a topic in mind as we speak but I need to construct my thoughts in some way first.
